International Mission Board (IMB)
IMB's (International Mission Board's) mission is to make disciples of all peoples in fulfillment of the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20.
Over 6,000 people groups - 1.7 billion people - still live with little or no access to the Gospel.
Lottie Moon Christmas Offering
Southern Baptist churches like Foothills collect the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for the sole purpose of supporting international missions. Every penny of the offering goes to the International Mission Board’s overseas budget, thus supporting our missionaries and their work.
Mexico - Iglesia Bautista los Encinos / Dios es Amor
Foothills Baptist Church entered into a two-year partnership with Nogales, Sonora, Mexico church Iglesia Bautista los Encinos in 2005, and that partnership has turned into life-changing relationships for many of our members.
Working closely with Iglesia Bautista los Encinos's sister church Dios es Amor, scores of Foothills members have embarked upon many weekend-long facilities-improvement trips to the south of the border. Foothills has also maintained an annual commitment to a Christmas gift drive, donating thousands of new and gently-used toys, blankets, and clothing items to our friends in Mexico.
New Hope Nursery and Primary School and Orphanage are located on 10 acres of hillside about 10 miles outside the city of Kampala, Uganda. It began in 2002 with 100 students and a handful of teachers, was opened to the public in April 2004, and today there are more than 400 students and 26 staff members. Half of the students live at the school.
Ugandan Pastor Christopher Lubega and his wife Agnes, in response to a great need, founded New Hope. Many of their church members were dying because of war, AIDS, malaria, and other illnesses. As a result, they were leaving the responsibility of their orphaned children to the church in their wills.
Primary school classes serve ages 3 through 7th grade and support 30-50 students per classroom. The children are instructed in all the basic subjects, and they also receive a strong Christian foundation. Many have come to receive Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior. Members of Foothills Baptist have visited New Hope several times in the past decade to minister to the students.
