Dear Foothills Church Family,

This past Sunday, August 25, the Elder Team was very pleased to announce to the congregation during both Worship Services that Pastor Brian McCoy is FBC’s Lead Elder candidate. 

The Lead Elder Search Team, after thoughtful and prayerful consideration, unanimously and without reservation recommended Brian to the Elder Team. Subsequently, the Elder Team conducted rigorous interviews on four separate occasions. Our Teams requested and received Brian’s answers to extensive Personal and Theological questionnaires, interviewed both he and Madonna and checked numerous references. After prayerful consideration and guidance from the Holy Spirit, the Elder Team, voted unanimously and without hesitation to present Brian to the members for affirmation.

Foothills Group Leaders, Deacons, and their spouses met for a Q & A time with Brian on Sunday, August 25, and the congregation has already had the first of two Q & A meetings on Monday, August 26.

On Sunday, September 8 at 1:30 PM, there will be a church wide Question and Answer session with Brian and Madonna.

On Sunday, September 15, Brian will preach during both services and after each service, members will vote by secret ballot to affirm Brian’s call as FBC’s Lead Elder.

On Sunday, September 22, Brian will be installed as the Lead Elder – Lord willing. Please attend. There will only be one worship service that day at 10:45 am. Following the service, there will be a pot-luck lunch. Please bring a dish from one of the categories below. Use the first letter of your last name to determine what you should bring.

• T-Z Dessert

We have seen Brian’s life and ministry grow, particularly over the last eight months as he stepped out to lead well through a weighty transition and difficult things. With no apprehension, the Lord has led us to wholeheartedly recommend Brian McCoy as our new Lead Elder.

Thank you for praying for the Lead Elder Search Team and the Elder Team as we sought to honor God through this process. Please continue to pray that God is glorified and that His church is built up as we take this next step, together.
