Christmas is the season of promise. It’s filled with anxious anticipation and expectation of something more, something better! Promises are the glue that hold our relationships together. Almost nothing brings us more joy, satisfaction, and even comfort than a promise kept. And almost nothing can wound us more deeply than a broken promise.
Christmas is proof that God is a promise-maker and a promise keeper. 600 years before the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, God promised, through the prophet Isaiah to send His virgin born Son into the world, and that He would be called Immanuel (which means God with us). Christmas is proof that God keeps His promises, no matter how costly, in His time for His glory and our good.
On Sunday mornings this Christmas season, we will look at four of God’s promises from the prophet Isaiah so that our hearts can be filled with the satisfaction, joy, and comfort of all God has done for us in Jesus!
