How do we worship in the midst of life-altering circumstances? When Mary is told she will be the mother of the Son of God, her life is changed in a unique, wonderful, and yet dangerous way. She has plenty to be anxious about, plenty to be afraid of, but she’s not self-absorbed, anxious, fearful, or hopeless. Instead, she believes God’s word and trusts His purposes and as a result, her heart is free to sing! The true spirit of Christmas is the spirit of worship, and worship is our response to God’s revelation of Himself. We learn to worship, even when life is hard by listening to Mary’s song.
