How can we the church best support and encourage our new Lead Elder to be most effective in his ministry and calling here at Foothills Baptist Church?

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account.  Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be no advantage to you.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your grace in sending Your son to the cross to bear the burden of our sins. Thank you for new mercies every day through Your forgiveness as we follow God in obedience.

This morning we pray to You with shameless boldness, that the Holy Spirit will fill us, that we will experience unity in You, Jesus, that we will be empowered for a ministry of encouragement to our Elder Team and one another. That we would all trust God’s good sovereignty in our search process. That we would remember and focus on the fact that Jesus, not a Lead Elder, is the head of the Church. 

Jesus, we seek Your direction, wisdom, and discernment in our search for a Lead Elder

It is our prayer that we seek a Lead Elder of Your Church who would love Jesus, abide in Him and look upon the Bible as the authority. That he would love his wife as Christ loves the church. We pray that marriages in our congregation will be strengthened, healing will be given to the ill, and our lost family members and friends will be saved by Your mercy.

We love you, God.
