Prayer Points: June

In the month of April, we looked at the first 3 petitions of Jesus’s prayer in Matthew 6:9-13. This month let us turn our attention to the last 3 of Jesus’ petitions. Here’s the prayer:

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Father, give us our daily bread. I ask that You would help my physical need of bread point me to my eternal need for the bread of life – Jesus. Father, help my dependence on Your grace in Jesus be reflected in time spent with You in prayer. Help our church to be a church dependent on You in prayer.

Father, I know that You forgive me of my debts in Christ. Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered – Psalm 32:1. Help me to seek and offer forgiveness as needed within every relationship that You have blessed me with. Help our church to be a gracious, forgiving church.

Father, deliver me from temptation. Help me to be aware of the evil one who prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Father, give me grace to flee temptations and cling to the wonderful gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord. Deliver my church family from temptation and the snare of the evil one.
