Out of his bible mediation in Jeremiah, Daniel is moved to prayer and God answers. While the answer may not have been what Daniel expected, it was full of hope for God’s people. The outline is: Sin Confessed V1-14; Mercy Sought V15-19; Hope Given V20-27: The big idea, and answer to Daniel’s prayer can be summarized this way: God pours his mercy out on his people through his anointed one, Jesus, to bring us into the fulness of his salvation and give us confidence that no matter how troubled our world, or lives, He is our King who rules, who saves his people completely, and will destroy all his enemies. Four exhortations: Be realistic about your sin and confess; pray with confidence in the promises and mercy of God; Be grateful for the finished work of Christ; pray for the return of Christ while you wait.
