The Gospel is the most valuable thing we possess and cannot afford to lose. Paul’s letter to the Galatians establishes his apostolic authority and defines the Gospel clearly: we are sinners who need rescuing, Jesus gave Himself as our substitute on the cross, the Father accepted His work through the resurrection, and God did this for His own glory. False gospels add something to Christ’s work, making salvation depend on Jesus plus our efforts. But the Gospel is all-or-nothing – the moment we add anything to Christ, we lose the Gospel entirely. We must trust in Christ alone for salvation and guard this precious truth carefully.
