Jesus performs His second sign in John’s gospel, the healing of the official’s son. This scene teaches us about real faith; it begins with needs, not demands; it takes Jesus at His word, and it strengthens as you see more of Jesus. For most of us, this sign gives us hope that Jesus is the giver of life and that as we see Him perform this miracle, we glimpse the world, not as it is, but as it was, and one day will be again beautiful, clean, free of sin, death, brokenness, tears, grief, and the devil.
