In Matthew 18:15-20, Jesus teaches us how to pursue reconciliation together in the church. Immediately following his parable of the Good Shepherd leaving the 99 to pursue the one wandering sheep, he commissions his church (the 99) to pursue the one wandering member. He gives us four steps to follow to pursue reconciliation, giving us his authority to take these actions, and assuring us of his presence when we do this delicate, difficult work.
