Christianity centers on one pivotal truth: the cross of Jesus Christ. Paul’s final words to the Galatians expose false religion that seeks external show, avoids persecution, and boasts in human achievement. In contrast, true faith boasts only in the cross, which creates an entirely new class of people – dead to the world’s system and alive as God’s new creation. The cross doesn’t make bad people better; it makes dead people alive. Our identity and hope rest completely in what Christ accomplished, not in our own efforts or achievements.
