Praying for Power and Glory

Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3 teaches us to focus on two essential requests: asking for the Holy Spirit’s power to transform us from within, and praying to experience Christ’s limitless love more deeply. Rather than praying primarily for external circumstances, we should ask God to change our hearts and help us grasp how permanently and fully we are loved by Jesus. Paul demonstrates humble dependence on God while maintaining total confidence in His unlimited resources. When we truly understand Christ’s love demonstrated at the cross, we become stable, generous, and free from the opinions of others. Our prayers should be shaped by Scripture rather than just immediate concerns, allowing us to pray with confidence that God will answer according to His promises.
