Daniel 5 is the flip side of Daniel 4. In Daniel 4, when the proud are repentant, they receive the grace of God no matter how sketchy their past. In Daniel 5, when the proud are unrepentant, they reap the righteous judgement of God for their sin, no matter how secure their present. God communicates forcefully and clearly that he will not be mocked; he will judge sin; and yet he loves enough to warn us of the consequences of our sin and his judgement. We see four things in this text: Hard Words; False Beliefs; Heartfelt Grief; Necessary Repentance
