Ps. 121 is a Psalm of Ascent. God called his people to make the trip to Jerusalem 3x each year for each of the main feasts; Passover, Pentecost, and Tabernacles. The people looked forward to the destination, but the journey was full of uncertainty and threats. It made them feel vulnerable, anxious and unsafe. Ps. 121 teaches us that when we learn to trust in the God who keeps us, we can sing through the danger!

Scripture: Ps. 121; Ex. 23:14ff; 1 John 3:2-3; Ps. 124:8; Matt. 10; 1 Ki. 18; John 16:33
