C.S. Lewis wrote a good friend, “I have just passed on from believing in God to definitely believing in Jesus, in Christianity.” That “passing on to believe in Jesus” by Lewis is what Jesus describes in John 3 as being “born again.”
In Jesus’ conversation with Nicodemus, we move through four markers on the way to being born again, to experience the new birth which opens the Kingdom of God to all believers.
First, we all need the new birth V1-3
Second, only God can do it for you V4-8
Third, we must believe on Jesus to be born again V9-15
Fourth, how is it possible? God’s love for us V16-21
