Upside Down Kingdom

The Kingdom rule of Jesus is often upside down from the way we think life works or is supposed to work. In our text, Matthew puts two scenes together that seem unrelated, but the contrast is what he wants us to see. In one, it’s the weak and helpless that get the kingdom, while in the other, it’s the successful and powerful who walk away. Finally, Jesus leaves his disciples with three warnings we need to hear.

Scripture: Matt. 19:13-30: Rom. 3:10-13; Gal. 2:20
