God’s word matters too much to be ignored, and when there is sin, He will judge it, but sin does not get the final word.
Achan ignored God’s word and brought trouble on himself and the entire nation. God’s people bore the sins of one man – Achan. But in the end, one man bore the sins of God’s people – Jesus.
This text teaches us…
All sin is serious – there is no such thing as a little sin.
My sin impacts others – fighting sin is a community project.
Sin’s consequences are deadly – God brings “trouble” on unrepentant sinners.
Sin will not have the final word.
