Why the Ascension Matters

Do not overlook or underestimate the ascension. It is not a side detail. It’s essential and with very personal implications for followers of Jesus. It certifies His deity, continues His work for His people, and confirms his return and reign. If the resurrection and ascension are false, then following Jesus, obeying and worshipping Jesus is foolish. Anything the Church does in Jesus name is meaningless. But if it is true, if Jesus is alive and exalted to the right hand of the Father, actively working to strengthen us, empower us, advocate for us, then everything changes. He is not just a historical figure to study, but the living Lord to follow.
