John 1:14-18 is the climax of the prologue of John’s Gospel and it tells us four important theological truths about who Jesus is:
1) Jesus is incarnate deity;
2) Jesus is the eternal Son and long-awaited Messiah;
3) Jesus is mediatory of a new covenant;
4) Jesus is God the Son who reveals God the Father.
All of this leads to the big idea that Jesus, the eternal Son, took on flesh to dwell among His people and offer covenant relationship with the Father. These are important theological truths for all Christians.
