In Matthew 10, Jesus gives the 12, the apostles, instructions about mission. The 12 are unique in history. Jesus gives them the scope of their ministry, limiting them to the “lost sheep of the house of Israel” in Galilee. He gives them special authority to demonstrate the power and authority of the Kingdom, and he gives them very particular instructions for their mission. But V1-15 are not just history. The text clearly gives us four implications for the followers of Jesus today about how to go on mission.

Matt. 10:1-15; Matt. 4:19; Matt. 10:16, 18; Matt. 6:26-34; Matt. 7:6.
