One of the most difficult things we face in life, follower of Jesus or not, are those moments or seasons when life doesn’t turn out like we had hoped or planned. When work trouble, sickness, problems in our family, interrupts, disrupts, and upsets our lives it can create a crisis of belief. Our unmet expectations can lead us to doubt, disappointment, disillusionment and potentially, unbelief. The bible is full of these examples, and this text provides two – John the Baptist, the doubting believer, and the Crowd/this generation – the stubborn unbelievers.
