The sermon on the mount is not a new law from Jesus. It’s a description of life in Jesus. Through his Sermon on the Mount Jesus preaches the good news that the kingdom of heaven has broken into the world and we can live flourishing lives under his gracious reign. Today we organize the message around the answers to two questions in three points. The two questions; what do disciples of Jesus believe? And as a result, how do we live? The three points: First, we believe there is a kingdom way to live, and we stick with it. Second, We believe the Kingdom is “already and not yet” so we do not lose heart. And third, We believe the flourishing kingdom life is aware of our constant need for grace, so we walk closely to Jesus.
