Treasure and Trusting God

Questions about how to deal with money and material things and the anxiety that comes from handling them aren’t new to us. Jesus had to teach his earliest disciples about this core issue. It comes down to two things: don’t treasure treasures, but trust God for it! Jesus gives us three choices that make it clear that it’s impossible to be his disciple and be consumed with, and live in pursuit of gain. And he also gave us three good reasons for trusting Him; worry is useless, powerless, futile, and sinful; our Father provides all we need to do his will for his glory and our good; and our Father cares for us more than anything!

Scripture: Matt. 6:19-34
