In John 17:17 Jesus prays and says to the Father, “As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.” In John 20:21 he said to the disciples, “…As the Father has sent me, even so, I am sending you.” What’s it mean to be sent like Jesus? Sent with a deep personal committment; moved with compassion, determined to serve, no matter the cost. To be sent like Jesus is to become a servant – like Jesus.
